Venturing into Political Talk...Refugee Rally

Image
I started this blog to follow my Ironman journey in 2012 and it has slowly morphed into my online travel diary since I am not very into triathlons right now. I have written about my struggles with depression and life (although not all of those have been posted...sorry). Now I must interrupt my travel blog for a very important political blog. I have always tried to be a person that is kind, loving, open, and understanding. I try to be nice to everyone and look for the best in others and life. The last 6 months has made this incredibly difficult for me. I used to pride myself on not belonging to a political party because I would vote for those that deserved my vote, regardless of party lines. I am now a full pledged Democrat. Maybe it is living in DC and being immersed in politics or just growing up, but my opinions are stronger now than ever. I despise Trump. I hate using that strong of language but sadly it is true. I have never been a fan of him. He always seemed very into himsel

Arches and Canyonland

October 22: It was a short night since I needed to be up and on the road early. I wanted to wait until the KOA office opened to ensure I had the cost right for the night since I moved around. Many people were hiking up to it, but I was satisfied with the viewpoint from a d

October 21: Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef Post interview, I got on the road quickly since I had two parks to hit that day. It was an hour and a half to get to Bryce Canyon National Park. I pulled in and was told that my trailer would make it hard for me to find parking, but I could leave it in the parking lot just after the visitor center. Thankfully I had gotten good at disconnecting my trailer from the car, so I took the five minutes to secure it in the parking lot. The scenic parking lots in most national parks are pretty small, and Bryce followed that pattern. I drove out towards Rainbow Point (can't remember if I made it all the way out there) and hit Bryce Point and Inspiration Point on the way back. Sadly I don't remember the differences between the lookouts. The Rim Path allowed dogs on the gravel path between Sunrise and Sunset Points so I wanted to make sure I went there. Parking was very difficult but I was able to grab a spot. It was beautiful. Amazing how red t
